Sharjah Light Festival

The Sharjah Light Festival, taking place from 7 to 18 February, is a unique event designed to capture the imagination of all, as well as highlight Sharjah’s distinguished landmarks and historic buildings. This breath-taking and electrifying February event floods Sharjah with light and color, and celebrates the art of drawing with light, as well as combines imagery with captivating music to create an exhilarating experience. The experience will include a dedicated F&B area, immersive gallery, games zone, retail, entertainment, light installations, and much more.      

Light Village

The Light Village, opening from 1 to 18 February, will offer over 50 mobile food trucks, the most delicious international and local cuisines alongside a number of souvenir stalls. Family favourite franchises plus fusion cuisine, burgers, street food, coffee, desserts and traditional specialties will all be available at this spectacular venue, just outside Sharjah’s University City Hall. Diners will be tempted to return again and again for the delicious flavours, enjoyed under Sharjah’s night sky and glimmering lights. 

Visitors can, in addition, enjoy several activities, including an Immersive Gallery with light filled globes, unique interactive light photography artists and plenty of illuminated instagrammable moments. Visitors will find a unique mix of offerings at the Light Village from a Multimedia Tunnel where light strips are used to create dynamic passage effects and animations, an immersive ball pit and soundscape experience to an eye-catching art exhibition where mirrored spheres reflect viewers endlessly for a though-provoking experience. 

The youngsters will find the games zone hugely appealing with a variety of playground games and activities providing plenty of fun and exercise for kids, as well as a video games area for the dedicated gamers to flex their skills!

Immersive Gallery Experiences

Enjoy the immersive experiences at the gallery, from a one-of-a-kind mirror-ball exhibition to the floating ball clouds above the ball pit.

Cosmic Bubbles - Immersive Ball Pit Experience:

• A stunning ball pit experience, rolling spheres beneath an ethereal sky of multicoloured bubbles. An imaginative multisensorial ball pit experience using images and sound to create a never before seen attraction for guests to indulge in unique memorable photo & video moments. 

Mirrors in the Sky - Immersive Mirror Spheres:

• A thought-provoking art exhibition where viewers find themselves and the sky reflected endlessly in a collection of giant mirrored balls. An art exhibit like no other, giant mirror balls in the open sky take you on a journey of imagination.

Artist (will be available on 5, 16 and 17 February only):

• Alya Al Sanad: An Emirati artist / calligrapher specialising in live activation / performances of photography with the use of light. Al Sanad’s beautiful light works combine her skillful calligraphy with an adept use of light and filming technology for dramatic photographs of people and places surrounded in streaks of light.
